Booklet Thursday (Week 1)

Booklet Thursday is a new MEME hosted and created by myself aka Princess Neve Reviews and with the help of my sweet friend Kate from The Never Ending BookShelf.

Booklet Thursday is about our history with books. Starting from seeing the cover of that book, story on buying or getting that book, how the books's characters effected you and all about you and the characters effects on your mind and feelings.

Well all just have a story with a Book rither Happy, Sad or Funny...

My today's pick is The Gamma Boyal Tirology by Libba Bray.

My story begins in a hot summer's day; I was looking for some books online and I have seen the tirology many and many times but in that verey same day I really wanted them but I remembered that it's not easy to find YA Novels in Egypt. I sight and at that same verey moment my father told me that we are going downtown for shopping and it was fine but when I enterd the bookstore it was really the happiest shopping time
For me I found the 3 books at the same time. I wanted to scream and jump from happniess. I bought the novels and I went back hom with my sweet new books that I never imagined how is it easy to get them?!

From the frist page of A Great and
Terrible Bueaty I fail in love with Libba Bray's writing way. Her characters and plot.
Reading Rebele Angels was my heaven.
Currently reading The Sweet Far Thing and ridding the fantasy wind.

What I have learnt from the novels is believing in myself, my power to change and even the smallest thing can make a big change. Trust your friends and corsetes hurts like hell but I still love them...

Now Tell me your story with a Book...

Remember to post your links when you comment. Sorry but Mr.Linky is giving me a hard time....

Give Up the Ghost by Megan Crewe

Attantionnnnnnnnnnnnnn all fans of Give Up the Ghost by Megan Crewe; finally here is the
Book Trailer;

The amazing Megan herself sent me this like with THIS LINK info about ARCs

The Spill Your Secrets Giveaway – on until August 24th
It’s time for another GIVE UP THE GHOST giveaway! Open to everyone in the world.

What you could win:
What it’s all about

In GIVE UP THE GHOST, Cass is on a mission to expose her fellow students’ bad behavior. With the help of her ghostly friends, she catches kids lying, cheating, spreading rumors, vandalizing, stealing, and bullying both in school and online. And Cass herself has been the victim of rumors and bullying.

Those sorts of cruelties and crimes happen in the real world all the time. Did you ever do something you probably shouldn’t have, or find yourself a victim? Are you willing to expose those wrong-doings?

How to enter

Send your stories about junior high or high school misbehavior to secrets at megancrewe dot com by August 24th. It could be something not-so-nice you did, something not-so-nice someone did to you, or something you saw happen to someone else (a friend, classmate, teacher, etc.). For examples, check out the stories already posted!

Don’t worry–unlike Cass, I won’t reveal your secrets. All stories will be posted without name or contact information. I’ll separate your e-mail address from your story as soon as I get it and delete the messages, and even *I* won’t know which stories belong to the winners.

Make sure each story includes your age or grade at the time of the story (should take place during junior high or high school). Other than that, be as creative as you like! All the current examples are written stories, but there are lots of other options (just send me the file):

-create an image around your secret (a la PostSecret)
-draw a picture of what happened
-record an audio file of you telling your story
-make a video (without showing your face–cover it, do a slideshow with voice-over or text, it’s up to you!)

You can submit as many stories as you like–each story counts as one entry in the draw.

The prizes

1. The grand prize is only available to those who present their secret in one of the more creative ways listed above. Those whose stories include an image, drawing, audio file, or video will be entered to win…

A large GIVE UP THE GHOST prize pack, including:
-A signed advance copy of GIVE UP THE GHOST
-All five ghost scent samples
-A GIVE UP THE GHOST tote bag
-A 10″ LED paper lantern (from the book: Get [Paige] interested, though, and she brightened up like a Chinese lantern.)
-A friendship bracelet (from the book: I’d kept thinking of Danielle as my real best friend. We had the extra four years between us, that back history of friendship bracelets and sleepovers and secret sharing.)
-A sticker set featuring the main characters of the novel
-A GIVE UP THE GHOST bookmark
-A GIVE UP THE GHOST button (not pictured, but I should have them by the time the contest is over)

and…

First choice of THREE of the ARCs pictured above (ALPHAS by Lisi Harrison, ONCE A WITCH by Carolyn MacCullough, CRAZY BEAUTIFUL by Lauren Baratz-Logsted, TRICKS by Ellen Hopkins, SOULSTICE by Simon Holt, CATCHING FIRE by Suzanne Collins, RIOT by Walter Dean Myers, DEMON PRINCESS by Michelle Rowen, FOREST BORN by Shannon Hale, DEVIL’S KISS by Sarwat Chadda, and ONCE WAS LOST by Sara Zarr).

2. The second prize is for everyone who submits any sort of story, and it’s pretty awesome too! It includes…

A signed advance copy of GIVE UP THE GHOST

A medium GIVE UP THE GHOST prize pack including
-All five ghost scents
-Small paper lantern
-Friendship bracelet
-Sticker set
-Bookmark
-Button

-Second choice (after the grand prize) of TWO of the additional ARCs

3. Five additional winners will receive a small GIVE UP THE GHOST prize pack (same as medium but only one ghost scent) and choice of ONE of the remaining ARCS!

Seven chances to win, twelve great books! What are you waiting for? Send those secrets in now!

And once you have, feel free to post this button on your website or blog:

Waiting On Wednesday (1)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This is my frist Waiting On Wednesday and my current pick is;

Violet Wings by Victoria Hanley

Author: Victoria Hanley
Reading level: Young Adult
Hardcover: 368 pages
Publisher: EgmontUSA (August 25, 2009)
Language: English

Prologue;
No trees grow upon the world of Tirfeyne. There are many tall bushes, and a great variety of flowers, most of which can also be found on Earth. Homes are built of stone and metal, not wood. Paper comes from the pounded stems of reeds—unless, of course, it is smuggled here from Earth. Our world is exceedingly rich in minerals and gemstones, our mines deep and plentiful. Fairies, genies, and leprechauns dwell upon Tirfeyne. So do pixies, trolls, and gremlins—but they do not live in Feyland, for they have their own countries.
--Orville Gold, genie historian of Feyland...

Teaser Tuesday! (Week 1)

Okay, wanna play? This is how...
Open the book you are currently reading to page 36. Pick out the 9th and 12th sentence on that page and post them here. Or if you choose, you can just pick out the two best sentences on that page. Don't forget to let us know the name of the book! Post all of this in the comments.

This is from what I am currently reading aka The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray:

East Wing sleeps tonight--no hammers to disturb us. Yet it has a power all it's own.

Felicity has something cupped in her hand.
